Kimbarra Wines

With a passion for wine, the Leeke family, father Eric together with sons Jim, Peter and David, set to in 1978 and planted the first vines in a corner paddock on their fine wool property using Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon root stocks.

Both varieties have been consistent award winners with the Riesling picking up a number of gold medals. In December of 1995, responding to demand from a local winery for more high quality Great Western fruit they planted Shiraz . It too has produced award-winning wines.

Kimbarra vineyard produces around fifty tonnes of fruit annually, the majority of which is sold to a local winery and is used in production of their premium and ultra premium wines. They do however select small parcels of fruit each year from which winemaker Ian McKenzie produces limited quantities of premium wines for them to share with family and friends.

All our wines are 100% Kimbarra estate grown in Great Western, Victoria, Australia.
